Going to the park is often an excuse for the kids to be entertained while I read a book. Or watching a movie together is folding laundry time. But if I am really present, we all enjoy it more. However, you have to find that balance, because the laundry has to be done sometime.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14103947667892576934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2052751037104430948.post-32730702849436001242010-03-09T10:15:49.270-08:002010-03-09T10:15:49.270-08:00As a working mom, I am relaly going to have to rea...As a working mom, I am relaly going to have to read this book! The one thing I struggle with is leaving work at work. I have tried extra hard lately to just BE with mi family when I get home. Play, cook, clean up, bedtime routine WITH my children. Being present throughout all of it. The mundane, but the necessary to be the mother I hope to one day become.
great post! I NEEDED to read this post today- did you write it just for me?

I've been a SAHM for 10 years but have started working again (launching a business this week). All the stress of getting things ready has been so hard. My kids are used to getting more of me and the adjustment is challenging- even though much of what I do is from home.

I haven't even 'started' the real work yet- just doing the prep- and already the kids and Hubs are frustrated. I feel guilty.

At the same time, I am so excited, so ALIVE as I am using my talents and education again, getting a piece of my life back for me. I'm so much happier and everyone has noticed. I feel guilty about that too. Guilt. Sigh.Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15300459671364768442noreply@blogger.com
