Preparedness Wednesday: March in Review
Doing:
- Hung energy efficient curtains in front of the biggest window in my house (Saved $21 using coupons at Bed Bath and Beyond)
- Planted a garden
- Planted a pomegranate tree
- Fixed one toilet so it didn't take literally hours to fill with water after flushing
- Sorted through and packed up clothes that are too small for Thing 1 and Thing 2
- Worked a couple extra shifts to put money into savings (or car repairs)
Food Storage:
- 24 boxes of Annie's pasta and cheese in various varieties (49 cents each)-Smiths
- 6 packages of various pastas (Free with coupons)-Smith's
- Multiple cases of water
My husband mocks me for purchasing bottled water. 1.39 for 24 bottles after catalina deal at Smith's (Plus I found a couple $1 off coupons which made two of them 39 cents per case)
- Canned tomatoes, beans, green chiles and mushrooms (48-70 cents each) from Lin's Case Lot Sale
- Sliced almonds from Costco
I can't believe you found Annie's pasta for fifty cents. How did you do that?
ReplyDeleteA couple times a year Smith's has it as one of their Mega Event items. (They have numerous Mega Events throughout the year where you only get items at a given price if you purchase 10 participating items.) My kids and I love Annie's pasta, but otherwise it can be kind of pricey. In Feb when I was in Cali we stopped at a Ralph's (another Kroger store) and I found that all of the Mega Event items that I saw were priced the same as the ones in Utah. So I *suspect* that the Kroger chain is consistent about their Mega Event Item prices nationwide. (Don't complain to your cashier if you discover that I am wrong.) If you follow me on Facebook, I post great deals as I find them.
